Considering the statistics and the increasing trend of accidents by the traffic and driving police in tehran, besides the economic and social implications, there will be significant psychological damages both at the individual and broader societal levels. Neglecting and overlooking solutions to address the issues related to accidents can lead to major and irreparable problems for the country. This research employs two research methods. The first method is based on statistical and field studies conducted on ۹۱ affected households involved in accidents in tehran. The second method utilizes a multi-criteria hierarchical fuzzy decision-making approach to examine the economic, social, and psychological criteria of the households under investigation. The relevant sub-criteria are identified based on previous studies and categorized into the mentioned three main criteria. Then, a pairwise comparison questionnaire with a ۹-point likert scale is developed and distributed among ۲۰ experts in accident studies. Using mathematical relationships and matrix solving in the fuzzy hierarchical analysis method, the obtained results suggest that the cultural promotion of seat belt usage ranks first among the social main criteria. The output obtained from the fuzzy hierarchical analysis is used as input data for the fuzzy topsis method, and three proposed options - cultural promotion, legal amendments, and vehicle safety enhancements - are evaluated as potential solutions. Based on the final results obtained from the topsis method, cultural promotion is selected as an effective solution for reducing the effect of accidents on household issues. By institutionalizing cultural awareness among the people, particularly regarding seat belt usage, the problems associated with accidents, and especially the occurrence of accidents, can be significantly reduced.
